Interstates is proud of the honors we have received for excellence in project delivery and for our safe practices on the jobsite. We have been recognized and awarded for our work in numerous industries at both national and state levels.

Control Engineering

Control Engineering Systems Integrator of the Year Finalist
Interstates Control Systems was named System Integrator of the Year by Control Engineering in 2010.

The Systems Integrator of the Year Award is presented to companies who excel in the areas of technical expertise, business skills, and customer satisfaction to the markets they serve.

To qualify for the award, a company must meet the requirements of a “system integrator”—“a contract engineering firm or an engineering division of a larger company that can design and implement computerized control systems for industrial machinery, manufacturing lines, or other automated facilities that produce either a commodity or finished product.” Control Engineering magazine introduced this awards program in 2006.

At the Interstates Companies, our insistence on the highest standards for safety has earned us a STEP Platinum designation under the Construction Leaders Agreement for Safety (CLAS) initiative. Associated Builders and Contractors’ program—developed by OSHA—promotes higher levels of safety awareness and performance.

Requirements include an excellent track record of safety, conducting monthly safety inspections, and being proactive in the safety arena by having a comprehensive safety program, conducting weekly safety meetings and daily tool box chats about possible safety hazards, and engaging all employees to be proactive in their daily approach to work safely.
